History and Mission
On February 27, 2004 the NGO
Committee on Spirituality, Values and Global Concerns (NY) was accepted as a
committee at the United Nations in New York.

On 24 October 2002 Member
Organizations in Geneva in consultative status with ECOSOC applied to CONGO for the
NGO Committee on Spirituality, Values and Global Concerns to be made a

The
National Service Conference
The National Service Conference of the American
Ethical Union is the sponsor of InterSpiritual Dialogue (ISDnA) in the United Nations
community.

The National Service Conference has sponsored the
work of InterSpiritual Dialogue in the UN-NGO Community since ISD's founding with Brother
Waynein 2002.
NSC reflects the trans-traditional,
trans-cultural, trans-national and worldcentric vision of the founder of Ethical Culture,
ethical philosopher Felix Adler and is active at the UN through numerous caucuses and
committees, especially the Values and Spiritual Caucuses (see below) and the NGO Committee
on Spirituality, Values and Global Concerns (see below). Kurt Johnson and Martha
Gallahue of the NSC Executive Committee were co-founders of ISD with Bro. Wayne in 2002
and NSC figured prominently in the planning of ISD's program on interspirituality at the
2004 Parliament of the World's Religions in Barclona.

United Religions Initiative
The United
Religions Initiative at the United Nations
United Religions Initiative, www.uri.org, is one of the most active and established
inter-religious associations in the world, founded initially through inter-religious
activists in the Episcopal Church, particularly Bishop William Swing and Fr. Charles
Gibbs, after which it grew rapidly through all the traditions (see history and Charter at
http://www.uri.org/hist.html).
Audrey Kitigawa, Deborah Moldow, Monica Willard and colleagues head up the
United Religions Initiative work in the UN NGO Community.

Among other important activities,
URI-UN is a leader in the annual International Day of Peace activities coordinated
worldwide through the UN- NGO community, Pathways for Peace, the World Peace Prayer
Society and others.

Spiritual Caucus at the United Nations
The Spiritual Caucus at the United Nations (www.spiritualcaucusun.org) is a caucus of
non-governmental organizations dedicated to worldcentric work centered on the central
values and ethics of all the worlds religious, philoso- phical and wisdom
traditions.
Convened by Barbara Valecore (a
"Friend" of ISDnA), Steve Nation and others, it meets monthly for shared
meditation, dialogue, and coordination of spiritual an ethic's based activities
within the UN-NGO community. Barbara and Steve host numerous gatherings in the
furtherance of inter-religious discussion at the Lifebridge Sanctuary in upstate New York
(www.lifebridge.org).
InterSpiritual Dialogue was formed in 2002 after
a presentation of Bro. Wayne's vision to the Spiritual Caucus community.

Values Caucus at the United Nations
The Values Caucus at the United Nations is a
caucus of non-governmental organizations centered on shared ethical values of religious
and secular cultures and traditions worldwide. The caucus seeks an open and fruitful
forum among UN-NGO's for discussions that can serve the interests of all humanity and the
planet.

Earth Values
Caucus at the United Nations
and Center for
Women, Earth and the Divine
The Earth Values Caucus at the United Nations was
created as a forum centering on spiritual values focused on earth, ecological and
planetary issues and, in that context, works throughout the UN community and the world to
advance the visions and goals of earth-centered foundational documents of the UN
community, such as the Earth Charter. Among its facilitators are Carl Murrell and
Elaenor Rae, who also work closely with The Coalition for OneVoice's (see New York hub)
environmental initiatives.

We the World and Pathways to Peace are among the most active individual UN-NGO's
