The
Parliament of the World's Religions
Held every four years, Brother Wayne served on the
Board of Directors for the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions, for many
years. ISDnA presented a program on InterSpirituality at the 2004 Parliament and a
joint program on "The Call to Interfaith Ministry" with the World Council of

The vision of the Council for a Parliament of the
World's Religions is of a just, peaceful and sustainable world in which:
- Religious and spiritual communities live in harmony
and contribute to a better world from their riches of wisdom and compassion
- Religious and cultural fears and hatreds are
replaced with understanding and respect
- People everywhere come to know and care for their
neighbors
- The richness of human and religious diversity is
woven into the fabric of communal, civil, societal and global life
- The world's most powerful and influential
institutions move beyond narrow self-interest to realize common good
- The Earth and all life are cherished, protected,
healed and restored
- All people commit to living out their highest values
and aspirations.

Temple of Understanding
THE TEMPLE OF
UNDERSTANDING has
led the way in interfaith education and advocacy for 50 years.
It educates
youth and adults both cross culturally and inter-religiously for global citizenship and
peaceful coexistence; advocates for acceptance and respect for religious pluralism by the
worlds governing bodies; and actively continues to promote justice and tolerance.
The organization
was founded in 1960 by a pioneering visionary, Juliet Hollister, with the support of a
distinguished group of “Founding Friends,” which included Eleanor Roosevelt,
Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan,
Sir Zafrula Khan, H.H. Pope John XXIII, Anwar al-Sadat and H.H. the XIVth Dalai Lama, among others.
